Ayla Benoy

graduated as a masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Leuven. She specialized further in voice by taking courses at e.g., Thomas More and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In her own private practice and in different multidisciplinary institutions, she treats people with voice disorders and optimizes voice and speech in elite vocal performers and professional voice users. She is a member of the voice clinic at the GZA Sint-Vincentius Hospital. At Ghent University, she is a guest lecturer about the singing voice. She leads workshops on prevention of voice disorders, voice techniques and public speaking. Ayla taught voice to future actors at the Lemmens Institute and has been president of the advisory board.

Norma Camilleri

 graduated as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the University of Malta and furthered her studies in Voice at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne where she was awarded an MSc in Speech & Swallow research (Voice). She had set up the first Voice Clinic and the first Joint Voice Clinic within the Ministry for Health’s Speech-Language Centre in Malta.

She has been president of Malta’s Association of Speech-Language Pathologists since 2014. She has recently been reconfirmed ESLA Chair for another three years. She regularly delivers workshops and talks on prevention of voice disorders, vocal care and voice therapy to various audiences and professionals. Norma is the current CEO of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations.

Orietta Calcinoni

ENT and Phoniatrician, deals with Occupational Medicine and Insurance Medicolegal assessments. Works in prevention and assessment of ENT disfunctions: hearing, vestibular, smell and taste losses and voice complaints. Mostly interested in planning prevention of voice diseases. Since 1987 works in Teatro alla Scala where, from 2009, is in charge of the Theatre’s ENT Service. In 2020 part of the team for COVID protection protocol and singing risks analysis in the Theatre and in Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research (GCCR) about smell & taste losses in pandemia. Co-founder of VMPCT with Valentina Carlile.

Jan De Sutter

completed his audiology studies at Ghent University.
The past 15 years he has built up his experience in the field of hearing solutions.

In his current role as Sales Manager at Phonak he is responsible for Roger sales within the Benelux market.

In everything he does, the laws of physics remain his guideline

Evelien D’haeseleer

is professor at the Center for Speech and Language Sciences at Ghent University and guest professor at the Musical Department of the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She works as a voice clinician at the multidisciplinary gender team and ENT Department of Ghent University Hospital and is a member of the International Association of Logopaedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) and the European Professional Association of Transgender Health (EPATH) voice committee.

Her main areas of interest within voice research are transgender voice, effectiveness of voice training and voice in elite vocal performers.

Lieve Jansen

started her career as a soprano. Later it turned out she was a mezzo. She developed a beautiful repertoire in both disciplines. Between 1985 and 2015 she was teaching singing at the Luca Arts institute in Leuven (Belgium) and has given public masterclasses all over Europe. As an affiliated voice researcher to the dept. Logopedic en Audiologic Sciences Labo ExpORL - dept. Neurosciences of the university in Leuven, she participated in different research items such as  the project “In Tränen unendlicher Lust”, spectrography, Passavant’s wall (resonance), the flow-ball and others. She participates and gives presentations in voice conferences and symposiums as Pas, Pevoc and others. Since 2015 she is mostly involved in projects about vocal pedagogy.

From 2012 till 2020 she was president and co-founder of EVTA-be, the Belgian association of the European Umbrella association EVTA (European Voice Teachers Association), where she is now Vice President.

Mieke Moerman

is an ENT/phoniatrician, Head & Neck surgeon and Master in Audiology and Speech Language Therapy. She worked as a clinician for 30 years in an academical and non-academical setting in Belgium and the Netherlands. She is president of B-Laryphon, vice president of the UEP and chair of the dysphagia committee of the IALP.

Almost 3 years ago she left her clinical practice to deliver help to people with communication and swallowing problems on a larger scale by founding the medical webapplication

John Rubin

is a Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon at The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, a part of The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust. He is immediate past Clinical Director (2003-2009), is Chair of the Consultant Forum and is Lead Clinician of the Voice Disorders Unit.

He has written several books, articles and chapters, regularly lectures on voice-related topics and remains active on international editorial and scientific boards and committees.  Mr. Rubin is current President of the Collegium Medicorum Theatri (2009-2012 term) and is a founding member of the European Academy of Voice. He is immediate Past President (2010-2011 Term) of the British Voice Association. He has recently been appointed as Honorary Assistant Treasurer to ENT UK

Tom Steeland 

Is a speech and language pathologist and specialised in Parkinson Disease. He is co-writer of the book ‘Het hemd met de onmogelijke knopen’. In this book the patient and the caretaker finds practical information to cope the disease.  

For more dan 20 years he runs a team of SLP’s that is specialised in neurodegenerative diseases. He is in Belgium the ambassador of the self efficacyprogram PPEP4ALL.  

Almost 2 years he is co-founder of the medical webapplication
